Frequently Asked  Questions

General Questions

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY SHARPS CONTAINER ONCE IT'S FULL?

Place all used needles into the sharps container up to the FILL LINE and close and seal per instructions and call Nexgen for a new sharps container. Before disposal, check within your local community for instructions regarding contamination. Your home health nurse may be able to assist you with disposing of your needle box as well. Until you receive a new container, please place all syringes and blood monitoring glucose lancets to be disposed of into a metal or plastic, tight lid container like a coffee can or a milk or detergent jug. Once you receive your new sharps container or the home container becomes full, make sure the lid is closed tightly and secure the lid with heavy duty tape to avoid any spillage before being properly disposed of. NEVER put used needles in the recycle bin and if you have any leftover formula or feeding supplies, you can contact Nexgen or your local pharmacy to help coordinate supplies with those in need.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MY LEFTOVER MEDICATIONS AND SUPPLIES WHEN I HAVE FINISHED MY INFUSION THERAPY SESSIONS?

Please note that Nexgen is not allowed to get any medications back from patients after they have been dispensed. We recommend you consult your home health nurse about donating the leftover supplies to their agency. You can also ask a local Vet or consult an animal shelter on whether they can use any of the leftover supplies or medications. If possible, take your leftover medications and supplies to your local hazardous waste collection facility. You should never pour unused liquid medications down the drain.

HOW DO I RECEIVE INFUSION THERAPY?
